Role Description

We’re looking for a talented and versatile Lead Designer to own and elevate the visual language of Ahya across our brand, marketing campaigns, and communications. This is a strategic creative leadership role focused on marketing and storytelling design. You will directly shape Ahya’s visual identity as we scale, crafting compelling designs that bring climate science and tech to life for our audiences.

It’s a unique opportunity to build the design function from the ground up and define the brand of a fast-growing climate-tech platform. Our ideal candidate is a visual storyteller with exceptional design craft and a strategic mindset – someone who can alternate between big-picture brand vision and pixel-perfect detail, all while keeping Ahya’s mission front and center.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evolve and own Ahya's climate-first brand identity, developing style guides and enforcing visual consistency across all channels.
  • Lead the creative design function by managing workflows, design standards, and resource planning, laying the groundwork for team growth.
  • Produce a wide range of high-impact marketing assets (social, ads, video),ensuring all creative is on-brand and effective.
  • Translate complex climate and data insights into compelling visual stories,designing high-stakes decks, reports, and video concepts.
  • Collaborate with growth and content teams to ideate and execute creative brand campaigns that differentiate Ahya in the market.
  • Stay ahead of design and tech trends, experimenting with new tools and styles to keep Ahya's brand innovative and fresh.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in graphic/visual design with a strong portfolio showcasing marketing and brand design (social media campaigns, presentations, video graphics, etc.). Exceptional sense of layout, typography, and visual storytelling is a must.
  • Mastery of industry-standard design tools – Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Figma, and Canva at minimum. Familiarity with motion graphics or video editing software is a plus.
  • Understand how to align design outputs with marketing strategy and business goals. Can balance creative experimentation with brand consistency and purpose.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced startup environment – able to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Highly adaptable to evolving needs and open to iterative improvement.
  • Excellent leadership, ownership, and communication skills. You are self-driven, able to lead projects end-to-end, articulate and defend design decisions clearly to all stakeholders, and maintain a high bar for quality with meticulous attention to detail.
