Role Description

The SVP, Finance will report to the CEO and serve as a key member of the leadership team, acting as the strategic financial partner across the business. You will drive the financial agenda, co-lead strategic initiatives, and help steer Ahya’s mission to become a global leader in sustainability innovation, enabling a 20 million tCO2e reduction in annual emissions by 2030, with accuracy, transparency and equitable economic growth. To make a meaningful contribution to this journey, the VP Finance should be a forward-thinking and influential leader with a passion for innovation and a proven track record in guiding companies through rapid growth.

You will immerse yourself in the business to understand its full commercial, technical, and operational context. You will monitor key metrics, identify risks, and uncover opportunities that drive long-term value. With a strong sense for change and business dynamics, you will anticipate shifts in the market or regulatory landscape, adapt priorities accordingly. Your proactive leadership will strengthen financial discipline, optimize performance, and enable sound, forward-looking decision making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Secure long term value creation through a deep understanding of the business model, key value drivers, growth milestones, and company risks;
  • Developing and executing comprehensive financial strategies aligned with the company's overall goals and growth objectives;
  • Collaborating with executive leadership teams to develop strategic financial plans, including capital-raising initiatives;
  • Lead the preparation of high-quality documentation for board meetings, investor relations, strategic partnerships, and future funding rounds, including management presentations, investor materials, investment cases, and scenario analyses;
  • Conducting detailed financial modelling and scenario analysis to assess potential investments and cost-saving initiatives;
  • Guiding the finance team, ensuring accurate and timely (monthly and quarterly) financial reporting, forecasting, analysis, and compliance with accounting best practices;
  • Leading cash flow management, optimizing working capital, liquidity, and capital allocation to support ongoing operations and future growth;
  • Overseeing the preparation of timely and accurate financial reports, statements, and presentations for internal stakeholders, executive leadership, and external partners;
  • Evaluating and driving cost-saving initiatives, identifying opportunities for operational efficiency and profitability enhancement;
  • Managing the finance and accounting team, overseeing growth opportunities, bridging skills gaps, and managing talent for team growth;
  • Ensure full compliance with local regulatory and statutory requirements, oversee fiscal responsibilities, and safeguard effective risk and cash management;
  • Overseeing the budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to create and monitor budgets that optimize resource allocation and support strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Corporate Finance or Economics, preferably complemented by a post-master qualification;
  • Proven experience as a Finance Leader, or second in command, in a rapidly growing, tech-based company, preferably internationally oriented; 
  • We have a strong preference for someone with experience in investor relations, strategy, financial modeling and external financing;

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, local GAAP, and tax regulations in relevant markets;
  • Proficiency in commonly used financial software/tools, including NetSuite, Quickbooks, FreshBooks, and Xero;
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail, integrity, and ability to work under tight deadlines;
  • Passionate about sustainability, innovation, and working in agile, fast-paced environments.
