Ahya joins the 2026 United Nations (UN-ITU) – Green Digital Action Working Group on Green Computing and Sustainable AI
Dubai, UAE — March 25, 2026 — Ahya Technologies (Ahya), a leading sustainability software company from the Middle East, has been selected as a member of the 2026 United Nations - International Telecommunication Union (UN-ITU) Working Group (the “WG”) on Green Computing and Sustainable AI. Organized by the Green Digital Action (GDA) Hub, this WG consists of global leaders in sustainability from technology, finance, and academia including the likes of HSBC, NYU – Stern School of Business, NOKIA and others. Ahya serves as the sole representative for the Middle East, North Africa, and Pakistan region.
The working group provides a platform enabled by multiple UN agencies, and private sector members to define international standards for sustainable digital infrastructure across the core pillars of Cloud, AI, and Data Centers. By helping architect the frameworks that govern how these technologies are developed and deployed with environmental integrity, Ahya is ensuring that AI serves as a critical accelerator in the global transition to net-zero.
This appointment builds on Ahya’s significant momentum with the UN-ITU, following its’ win of the AI for Climate Action Innovation Award at COP30 in Belém, Brazil. This latest role underscores the firm's leadership in shaping global policy for AI-powered sustainability software as well high-compute sustainable digital infrastructure.

Launched at COP30 in Brazil, the Green Digital Action initiative serves as the global center for aligning the technology industry with international climate goals. Anchored in the legacy of the “COP30 Action Agenda”, it is a platform led by the United Nations – ITU (UN-ITU) alongside over 50 international partners—including the World Bank, UNITAR, and UNESCO.
The GDA initiative focuses on "greening digital" by reducing the sector’s environmental footprint and "greening by digital" by scaling sustainable technology solutions, with a specialized emphasis on the Global South. Through the Digital Decarbonization Plan to Accelerate Solutions (PAS), the Hub tracks emissions, scales green innovation, and leverages AI as at transformative force for the planet.
